Our Origins – From Research to Groundbreaking Combustion Technology
In 2023, Clean Burn Tech AS was established as a spin-off from Pipe Eksperten AS, a recognized player in chimney rehabilitation. With over 30 years of industry experience, Pipe Eksperten identified the need for a revolutionary solution to the challenges associated with traditional wood burning. The founder, Thor Kielland, has spent several years researching the mechanisms behind optimal combustion to reduce both particulate emissions and greenhouse gases on a global scale. This work has resulted in a patentable technology—and formed the foundation for the establishment of Clean Burn Tech.
Clean Burn Tech has developed an innovative combustion technology with a digital control system that optimizes the combustion process. This leads to significant reductions in particulate emissions and greenhouse gases, while also improving energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
The technology is the result of extensive research and collaboration with leading international research institutes. The company has partnered with Opole University of Technology and chimney manufacturer Jawar, and has also received expertise from Sintef Energy and RISE Fire Research. This research-based approach has led to a patented technology that sets new standards for environmentally friendly combustion.
